Working in Alignment with Florida Regulations

Space Coast Water Sweep operates as a community-based trap survey and removal support organization within the State of Florida. All activities are conducted in accordance with applicable Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) regulations governing blue crab traps and derelict gear removal.

We serve as a reporting and volunteer coordination platform and do not replace official state enforcement or permitting processes.

FWC Guidance & Authorization

Space Coast Water Sweep has communicated with representatives of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission regarding trap reporting and removal procedures.

All removal activities occur under appropriate permits and in accordance with FWC seasonal regulations, trap identification rules, and derelict gear recovery guidelines.
